Attention DC Small Business Owners: Great Streets Grants of up to $50,000 are Available!
The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) is inviting qualified small business owners who wish to improve their place of business to apply for Great Streets Retail Small Business Grants.
Small business owner can receive up to $50,000 to purchase large capital equipment or renovate their place of business.
The purpose of the grant program is to support existing small businesses, attract new businesses, increase the District's tax base, create new job opportunities for District residents, and transform emerging commercial corridors into thriving and inviting neighborhood centers.
Criteria
- Own a retail or service business within the approved boundaries.
- Be a registered business in Good Standing with the DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA), the DC Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR), the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
- Own or otherwise possess site control of the business property.
- Possess proof of property and liability insurance. Proof of business’ average annual revenue (based on the last 3 years of completed fiscal years), or projected average annual revenue for first three (3) years “in business” does not exceed $1 million.
- Basic business license.
