CAAB Engages with Over 50 Youth in Ward 8 Participating in WC Smith's 2018 Summer Youth Employment Program on Financial Wellness and Raising Awareness of the EITC

 
At the invitation from WC Smith, on June 27, 2018, staff from Capital Area Asset Builders (CAAB) provided a presentation at THEARC in Ward 8 to over 50 youth participating in WC Smith's 2018 Summer Youth Employment Program on best practices to achieve personal financial stability and financial wellness, and discussed the key anti-poverty role the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) plays in the District of Columbia.

At the invitation from WC Smith, on June 27, 2018, staff from Capital Area Asset Builders (CAAB) provided a presentation at THEARC in Ward 8 to over 50 youth participating in WC Smith's 2018 Summer Youth Employment Program on best practices to achieve personal financial stability and financial wellness, and discussed the key anti-poverty role the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) plays in the District of Columbia.    

The presentation was part of CAAB's #DCEITC Community Conversations. The Conversations are in-person presentations to low- and moderate-income residents of the District of Columbia to raise awareness of the EITC and connect Washingtonians with free tax preparation services in all 8 wards and online.

 

About the DC EITC Campaign 

The CAAB-managed DC EITC Campaign, is a citywide, cross-sector initiative that provides access to information on the EITC and connects Washingtonians with free tax preparation services throughout the District.

The DC EITC Campaign is made possible through the support from the Government of the District of Columbia, Citi Community Development and United Way of the National Capital Area.
