If You Worked in 2021, Let the EITC Work for You!
If your family's income was less than $57,414 in 2021, please make sure you know about the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and claim it. It's Your Money. Get It!
For over 40 years, the EITC made life better for millions of workers throughout America. You may have extra money waiting for you. If you qualify and claim the credit, it could be worth $6,728 from the IRS for some workers. Additionally, the District of Columbia with its DC EITC can provide 40% of the tax credit approved by the IRS.
Don’t be the one in five that misses this credit. If you or someone you know earned less than $56,844 from wages, running a business or farm or from Form 1099 Misc, check it out.
It’s easy to find out if you qualify. Please visit the IRS EITC Assistant to find out if you qualify.
EITC eligibility depends on several factors, including income and family size.
New this Year
There's a new rule to help people impacted by a job loss or change in income in 2021. Taxpayers can use their 2020 or 2019 earned income to figure their EITC, if their 2020 or 2019 earned income was more than their 2021 earned income.
