No applications or supporting documents will be accepted after June 30, 2015 or until funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.

How to Apply
Important Notice DC TAG must be applied for yearly.
To apply for DC TAG residents must use the DC OneApp. The DC OneApp is the online application college-bound District residents use to apply for funding from the District of Columbia’s Tuition Assistance Grant (DC TAG). DC TAG provides up to $10,000 toward the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition at public four-year colleges and universities throughout the US, Guam and Puerto Rico. DC TAG also provides up to $2,500 per academic year toward tuition at private colleges and universities in the District and private Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and two-year colleges nationwide.
Please note: Funds could be exhausted prior to the June 30 deadline.
To apply for DC TAG follow these Three Steps:
- Complete the DC OneApp yearly.
- Complete the FAFSA.
- Provide the DC OneApp Required Supporting Documents at the same time
All required supporting documents must have been postmarked or hand-delivered before the June 30th deadline or until funds are exhausted.

About DC TAG
The DC Tuition Assistance Program (DC TAG) was created by Congress in 1999 by the District of Columbia College Access Act; PL 106-98 and amended by DC College Access Improvement Act 2002 and DC College Access Improvement Act 2007 for the purpose of expanding higher education choices for college-bound residents of the District of Columbia. All public institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and private nonprofit colleges and universities within the Washington Metropolitan area are eligible to participate in the DC TAG.
The DC TAG expands higher education choices for District residents by providing grants of up to $10,000 toward the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition at public four-year colleges and universities throughout the US, Guam and Puerto Rico. DC TAG also provides up to $2,500 per academic year toward tuition at private colleges in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, private Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) nationwide and two-year colleges nationwide.
