CAAB Graduation celebrated in the Washington Informer

The CAAB graduation may have been on a rainy day in August, but it was all smiles at Takoma Recreation Center in Northwest. One graduate spoke of how she diligently deposited money she saved into a special account called an Individual Development Account (IDA) which CAAB matched 3:1. Her $1,000 investment blossomed into $4,000 which she applied to tuition. Learn More.

NPR Commentary on Refund Anticpation Loans

CAAB's DC EITC Campaign Volunteer Coordinator, Page Schindler Buchanan, presented a commentary on changes to high-cost Refund Anticipation Loans. These loans are offered at tax time and generally target low-income taxpayers. Page's commentary ran on WAMU, a local National Public Radio affiliate.

CAAB Highlighted in Washington Business Journal

The DC Government has launched Bank On DC - a citywide campaign urging residents to start saving money and join a financial institution. CAAB is partnering with Bank On DC to coordinate financial education and counseling services.
