Director of Micro-loan Programs

Maria Godoy is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in philanthropy and community engagement, specializing in underserved populations. With a decade of expertise in program management, she excels in designing and executing impactful initiatives that drive community development and empowerment.

Currently, Maria serves as the Director of Micro-Loan Programs at CAAB, where she is responsible for the strategic design and development of credit-building micro-loan opportunities. Her role involves overseeing program execution, managing consumer loan portfolios, tracking performance metrics, maintaining internal databases, generating funder reports, and providing expert guidance on loan fund management. Additionally, Maria leads the micro-loan education component of the Credit Empowerment Program, ensuring the effective delivery of training sessions.

Previously, Maria was a small business coach and grants program manager, accumulating over five years of experience in business management and economic development. She also worked as an independent consultant in the DMV area for more than five years, supporting entrepreneurs and business owners with business strategies, operational management, financial planning, and marketing.

Maria holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) and has earned a professional certification in Business Consulting from Kent State University. She also holds multiple certifications in financial and credit building management from NeighborWorks America and is a HUD-registered Counselor. Maria is passionate about empowering underserved communities and aspiring entrepreneurs. Maria leverages her extensive experience and expertise to foster growth and success in her field.
