OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE
BACKGROUND:
Capital Area Asset Builders (CAAB) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to create opportunities for low- and moderate-income individuals in the greater DC region to build financial security, savings, and wealth for the future.
Position Summary: The Operations Associate is responsible for providing day-to-day support to CAAB's Operations Department; supporting CAAB's Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer; communicating with internal team members and participants; and ensuring program entry and document compliance, participant support, and data entry.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Bookkeeping/recording transactions in accounting system.
- Review program Applications for program eligibility and follow up with clients regarding missing documents.
- Set up participants in CAAB database system.
- Open participant bank accounts and provide Welcome Letter.
- Maintain orderly client electronic files and paper records.
- Respond to inquiries via e-mail or phone requesting information on savings programs.
- Teach program orientation to new program participants
- Represent CAAB at local events as needed.
- Coordinate with Program Managers on participant tracking and data.
- Other related duties within the scope of this position, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Expertise in using technology to record and share information, and streamline operations.
- Have strong customer relations skills.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
- Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills, full command of MS Office products, technology skills.
- Excellent time management and organization skills.
- Ability to listen to customer needs.
- Experience working with low- and moderate-income individuals and families.
- Cultural understanding and awareness of socio-economic matters in the Washington metropolitan region.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Salary Range: $50,000 to $55,000, depending on experience.
- $1,000 Signing Bonus paid 3 months after joining the team.
- 10% match paid by CAAB into your CAAB 401(k) retirement account.
- $2,100 annual utilities & food reimbursement paid by CAAB to you on a monthly basis.

- Hybrid Work Environment: Approximately 75% from Home and 25% at the Office or at Community-based events.
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday with some evening and weekend hours required as needed.
