CAAB Was Present at Mayor Bowser's #FairShotDC Fair: Raising EITC Awareness and Promoting Free Tax Preparation Services in DC
Thanks to the invitation from the DC Deputy Mayor for Greater Economic Opportunity, on February 24, 2018, Capital Area Asset Builders (CAAB) was present at Mayor Bowser's A Fair Shot: African American Job + Prosperity Fair at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. During the event, CAAB staff engaged with over 100 Washingtonians and provided information on the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), free tax preparation services in DC, and registered DC residents for CAAB's free financial coaching sessions.
This engagement was part of CAAB's 2018 Tax Season's #DCEITC Community Conversations. The Conversations are in-person presentations to low- and moderate-income residents of the District of Columbia to raise awareness of the EITC and connect Washingtonians with free tax preparation services in all 8 wards and online.
