Raising EITC Awareness and Promoting Free Tax Preparation Services at the DC Convening to Increase Access to Services for Vulnerable Populations

Thanks to the invitation from the DC Mayor's Office for Veterans Affairs and DC Councilmember Robert White, on March 2, 2018, Capital Area Asset Builders (CAAB) was present at the inaugural DC Convening to Increase Access to Services for Vulnerable Populations in Washington, DC. During the event, CAAB staff engaged with over 30 representatives of community based organizations serving low-income Washingtonians and provided information on the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), free tax preparation services in DC, and registered DC residents for CAAB's free financial coaching and credit counseling sessions.

This engagement was part of CAAB's 2018 Tax Season's #DCEITC Community Conversations. The Conversations are in-person presentations to low- and moderate-income residents of the District of Columbia to raise awareness of the EITC and connect Washingtonians with free tax preparation services in all 8 wards and online.
