CAAB Presents at 2016 CBA Credit Building Symposium

On July 14th, at the invitation from Credit Builders Alliance (CBA), Joseph Leitmann-Santa Cruz, Director of External Relations of Capital Area Asset Builders (CAAB), presented together with John Kavyavu of Life Asset, at the 2016 CBA Credit Building Symposium in Washington, DC on the outcomes achieved in the Platform of Hope initiative.

The Platform of Hope initiative was launched in early 2015 as a collaboration between four Washington, DC-based non-profit organizations: Jubilee Housing, Jubilee Jobs, Life Asset and CAAB. This collaboration aims to create new opportunities for low-income residents in the Greater Washington area  to improve their financial well-being and build their credit. The emerging collective impact model is a strategy that will help families progress in a variety of ways including: access to financial coaching and financial education, providing access to a low-cost credit building loan, reporting rent payments to the credit bureaus, tax filing assistance and more.
