Who is Unbanked and Underbanked in Washington, DC? We Need to Know.
Our partner, the DC Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB), will be conducting two focus groups on September 23rd and September 25th to gather data on who is and what does it mean to be unbanked and underbanked in all 8 Wards in Washington, DC.
According to the most recent analysis from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), 12% of DC residents are unbanked (don't have a checking or savings account) and 25% are underbanked (have a bank account but still use check-cashing or payday loans).
Please consider attending one of the following two focus groups and assist DISB and better understanding the unbanked/underbanked reality in the District of Columbia.
